August 31: Alive on 25!

Alive on 25 is a free summer street festival in Downtown Riverhead offering local craft beverages and wine, live music, artists, street vendors and plenty of activities for all. Main Street closes to traffic to allow a walkable pop-up musical festival and restaurant offerings, artist exhibitions, and family friendly activities. Alive on 25 hosts a popular classic car show for all to enjoy. 5-9:30pm. Details.

August 31: Live Music: Twilight Thursdays

The Corey Creek Tap Room offers live music, lawn games, glass specials and a food truck every Thursday night. Tonight it’s Bryce Larsen, and the food is Noah’s on the Road food truck. 5-9 pm. Details.

August 31: Weird Beer: OG Beer Release Night 

Greenport Harbor Brewing & Little Creek Oysters team up each Thursday to intro a new OG (Original Greenport) beer with happy hour pricing. This week: Facing East – East Coast IPA – 7% An East coasters IPA, a supportive grist comprised of Pilsner, Crystal, Vienna, Wheat and Oat malts. This hop forward beer speaks of citrus fruit, a fuller body from malts and a clean finish from the Yeast.  5-8 pm. Details. 

August 31: Little Creek Oysters: Friday Night Bites- Oysters and Pintxos at Little Creek 

Starting at 7pm on Friday we’ll spread the counter with a dizzying spread of skewered small bites, pour crisp cold wines and beers and wash away the week together! Of course our shuckers will be opening the finest our bays have to offer! 7 pm. Details.

Claudio’s honors the late Jerry Tuthill, co-owner of the Claudio’s establishments, with weekly concerts featuring the Northeast’s greatest tribute bands.  90’s Boy Band Tribute to Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, 98 DEGREES, NKODB, and more. The show runs 8-11 pm. 21+ yrs old only. Details.

The annual benefit for the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund. A fabulous food and art event hosted by the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund. September 9: Concert in the Dome with John Joe Michael Roarty

This 2010 national guitar competition winner will demonstrate his mastery of the instrument and talent for composition in this magical, intimate performance held inside our 22′ observation dome.  Seating inside the dome is extremely limited Stargazing will follow beginning at nightfall. September 10: 1st Annual 5K Family Walk-Run for Behavioral Health Services at Eastern Long Island Hospital

Eastern Long Island Hospital (ELIH) announces its first annual 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, September 10, 2017.  Join us “on the road to recovery” to benefit our Quannacut Inpatient and Outpatient Addiction and Inpatient Adult Psychiatry programs.  This fun-filled family event to be held at Breeze Hill Farm & Preserve, Peconic, NY, includes a 5K Walk/Run starting at 8:45 a.m. for adults and children 13+.  There will be a half-mile kids “fun” run for children 6–12 beginning at 9:15 a.m.  A post race party is planned with an awards ceremony, children’s activities, and animals from North Shore Animal Welfare League.  And, as a special treat, “Walkie Bear” will be on site, courtesy of WALK Radio 97.5 FM. The North Fork of Long Island is famous for its delectable fare. Here, the tradition of farming has continued and expanded. Now it’s taken on yet another life as artisans have begun to produce distinctive foods and explore methods of sustainable agriculture. The 11th Annual North Fork Foodie Tour will include 20 locations representing a wide array of food producers on the North Fork, all providing behind-the-scenes tours of their farms and other establishments. September 16: Sylvester Manor Concert: Solas

It can be convincingly argued that no band has done more than Solas to prove that celtic music today is truly a universal musical language, like jazz, classical, rock or bluegrass.  The band’s sound is explosive yet seductively personal – timelessly melodic yet rippling with modern muscle.  Founding members Seamus Egan and Winifred Horan along with Moira Smiley, the vocalist who knocked us out here last September performing with Jayme Stone’s Lomax Project, front this five-piece band that the Boston Globe has called “ the finest Celtic ensemble this country has ever produced.” This final concert will have an added bonus, a contradance in the tradition of “Plant and Sing”, featuring Ed Howe & Bennett Konesni’s band Drive Train! Sylvester Manor, Creekside. 5-10 pm  Details.

 The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Society hosts “Back in Time.” This car show is unique because the cars are not just classic and beautiful, they are also pretty old. There’s also a costume contest, and the historic buildings are open for exploration. After (or before), wander downtown Cutchogue for restaurants, shops, Wickham’s Fruit Farm, Waters Crest Winery’s tasting room. 9 am-4 pm. Details.
